Bars, pubs and more around the Baltic Triangle Area
Years ago, the Baltic Triangle was a collection of abandoned warehouses. Today, it’s arguably the most creative square mile in the UK. This is Liverpool’s “Alternative Quarter”—a sprawling playground of independent bars, massive event spaces, and the resurrected Cains Brewery. If you’re looking for a generic night out, go elsewhere; the Baltic is for the quirky, the loud, and the adventurous.
Away from the main brewery site, the streets are lined with venues that defined the Baltic’s “warehouse chic” reputation:
Camp and Furnace: The original Baltic pioneer. From Bongo’s Bingo to massive fan zones and Taylor Swift club nights, it’s the ultimate “big event” space.
Love Lane Brewery: A sleek, working brewery and distillery where you can drink meters away from the steel tanks where the beer was made.
The Botanical Garden: A seasonal outdoor gin garden tucked away on New Bird Street. It’s a leafy oasis in the middle of the red-brick warehouses—essential for summer drinking.
Hobo Kiosk: A tiny, eccentric “micropub” that feels like your coolest friend’s living room. It’s the perfect antidote to the massive scale of the surrounding warehouses.
The “Invisible” Entrances: Half the fun of the Baltic is finding the door. Many of the best spots, like 24 Kitchen Street or Sub Rosa, are tucked behind unassuming industrial gates or down narrow side-streets like Greenland Street.
Day-to-Night: The Baltic is one of the few areas that works just as well at 1:00 PM as it does at 1:00 AM. Start with a coffee at 92 Degrees, hit the Red Brick Market for vintage finds, and end it with a cocktail at Birdies.
Transport: It’s a 10-15 minute walk from Liverpool ONE. If you’re wearing heels, get a taxi—those Baltic cobbles are famously unforgiving.
